One (1) in eight (8) women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Early detection saves lives! But in Ghana the statistics are grim. More than 2000 Ghanaian women each year die needlessly because they don’t have the money or a social support system to go through diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. Many cannot even afford transportation to the hospital.
Breast Care International (BCI) is on a mission to change that; to make breast health education, screening, holistic treatment and support accessible and affordable to all communities in Ghana.
Since the coronavirus outbreak, the cases we are recording indicate that, financial challenge still remains a significant barrier to diagnosis and treatment. The reality is, cancer hasn’t stopped because of a global pandemic. So neither can we stop the fight against breast cancer.
We humbly invite you to a Fundraising Cocktail in aid of creating awareness about breast cancer, supporting diagnosis and treatment of vulnerable women, slated for Saturday October 23, 2021 at 7:00pm at the African Regent Hotel in Accra.
