30 Northeastern University Students Visit Peace and Love Hospital and BCI in Kumasi, Ghana

Today, 30 students from Northeastern University in Boston, USA, visited the Peace and Love Hospital and the office of Breast Care International (BCI) in Kumasi, Ghana. The visit included an insightful tour of the Peace and Love Hospital facility, where the students gained first-hand experience of the healthcare services provided.

During the visit, Dr. (Mrs.) Beatrice Wiafe Addai, the Chief Executive Officer of Peace and Love Hospitals and President and Founder of Breast Care International, delivered an informative presentation on the incidence of breast cancer in Ghana. The presentation highlighted the challenges and advancements in breast cancer awareness and treatment in the country.

The students also had the opportunity to meet breast cancer survivors from the Peace and Love Survivors Association, led by Mrs. Vivian Gyasi Sarfo. This interaction provided a personal perspective on the impact of breast cancer and the resilience of those affected.

Dr. Vernessa Jackson, the leader of the Northeastern University students, expressed her gratitude to Dr. Wiafe Addai and the management of the hospital and BCI for their warm reception. In her speech, Dr. Jackson praised the tremendous work being done by BCI and Peace and Love Hospital in the fight against breast cancer in Ghana. She committed to continuing to bring students from the USA to witness these efforts.

In a generous gesture, Dr. Jackson made a donation to support the work of BCI. Dr. Wiafe Addai expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the surprise gift and for the continued collaboration with Northeastern University. She thanked Dr. Jackson and the students for their interest and support.

The students expressed their excitement and enthusiasm for the visit, promising to return and spend more time learning and contributing to the efforts of BCI and Peace and Love Hospital.
