The King of the Ashanti Kingdom, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has officially declared his support for the construction of the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Excellence in the Ashanti Region. This significant endorsement was made during a courtesy visit to the Manhyia Palace by an international delegation comprising representatives from the USA, Morocco, and France, alongside Ghanaian medical and academic leaders.
The delegation, led by renowned breast cancer advocate Dr. (Mrs.) Beatrice Wiafe Addai of Breast Care International, included Prof. Stephen Avery (Advisory Committee member), Mr. Vincent Ronfle, Mr. Mohammed Sidi, Dr. Opoku Adusei (Former President of the Ghana Medical Association), Prof. Christian Agyare (Provost, College of Health Sciences, KNUST), and traditional leaders. The group was introduced to the King by Otumfuo Hiahene, Oheneba Prof. Boachie-Adjei Woahene II, Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the Cancer Center.
